In 1902, James U. Jackson, developed the plans for 600 acres in the bluff areas above the flood plains that would make up a new town called North Augusta. North Augusta became a reality and was incorporated in 1906. Now with a total land area of approximately 19.5 square miles. Conveniently located along the Savannah River in the Augusta/Aiken Metropolitan area, North Augusta is minutes away from neighboring Cities of Augusta and Aiken and other entities such as Fort Gordon. North Augusta has a lot to offer as it has the advantages of a big city life, while still having a small home town feel.
